Appointments and Fees
What to expect
In our first session, we'll spend some time exploring the problem(s) that bring you to therapy at this time. We'll identify a technique or two to try and build a basic treatment plan together. In subsequent sessions, we'll check in on learned skills and activities between conversations and continue to work to better understand moods, thoughts, behaviors, and emotions that are creating distress. We'll work on skills to manage or change those that are problematic, and discuss environmental factors that affect your well-being.
Initial Consultation
I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we are a good fit- you can call or email me to set up a time to talk. During this first consultation, we will discuss what is bringing you to therapy at this time, my approach, and logistics of how we would work together. I will also be happy to answer any questions you may have at this time.
Appointments
Each session is 50-55 minutes long. I offer daytime, weekday appointments only, all conducted via HIPAA-compliant video.
How often we meet depends on the goals for therapy we come up with together! Most people meet with me once a week for 4-6 months, and then move to every 2 weeks as skills develop and symptoms start to significantly fade. After "graduation" from regular sessions, I often meet with clients once every few months to check in and make any adjustments needed, but this is entirely up to you. We will have ongoing discussions about frequency and length of visits as we meet. Please feel free to share your thoughts with me about this.
Fees
The rate for an individual therapy appointment is $175. I work with Optum Health (including United Healthcare and Oxford as well as other affiliated programs) and Aetna as an in-network provider; you may also be able to use your Health Savings Account to pay for your therapy visits. If you have insurance through a different provider, I can provide a superbill for you to use when submitting for reimbursement, but I do not submit that charge directly so the full fee of $175 would be due at the time of session.
