My Approach
As a licensed psychologist, I work with my clients utilizing a strengths-based, individualized approach to therapy. I work with adolescents (12+) and adults on issues of anxiety, depression, academic and work difficulties, relationship concerns, life transitions, and general personal growth. All client visits occur via HIPAA-compliant video.
I hold an M.A. in clinical psychology from Clark University and a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from the University of Northern Colorado. I began seeing clients in 2005 after completing my first graduate degree and have been enjoying it ever since! My specialty areas of treatment include anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, academic and work issues, parenting, relationships, and general personal growth. I use evidence-based strategies (primarily cognitive-behavioral) to help individuals across the lifespan learn new skills and empower themselves and their loved ones for effective change. During our time together, we will work together to better understand your emotions, thoughts, behaviors, and experiences and identify ways to improve your mood and quality of life. I'll ask you to learn and practice new skills both inside and outside of session and I'll also ask you to be honest about how it goes! I see therapy as a collaborative process- you are the expert on you, and I know some strategies and techniques that are likely to help. By combining our respective areas of expertise, we can find the most effective interventions for you.
Additionally, my training and clinical approach recognize that we respond not only our own experiences, but also the contexts and environments we live within. I strive to provide high-quality therapy for all types of clients including those identifying with marginalized groups based on race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, adversity history, family structure, religion, disability status, and/or migration status.
